For more than a hundred years, the NHL team Montreal Canadiens have given the sport so much in terms of entertainment, athleticism, and heart. Over the years, the franchise has given hardcore hockey fans and Canadiens fans like Pietro Triassi of Montreal people to look up to and root for every time there's a game. Here are some of the greatest players in the Montreal Canadiens locker history.

Henri Richard: Often described as the greatest Canadiens player who has ever touched the ice, Richard began his career with a five-year Stanley Cup-winning streak. And by the time he retired after 20 seasons, he would win 11 Stanley Cups, including two cup-winning goals. He has a record of most seasons, most games, and most minutes played in all of the Canadiens history.

Guy Lafleur: Known as the greatest scorer the likes of Canadiens fan Pietro Trassi of Montreal has ever seen, Lafleur leads the team in terms of goals and points. In his career, he's won two Hart Trophies as the league's MVP, three Art Ross trophies as the league's best scorer, and a Conn Smythe trophy for being the playoffs MVP. What made Lafleur dangerous in the rink was his scoring capability, and his ability to make plays.

Maurice Richard: Given the title "rocket," Richard was long considered the Babe Ruth of professional hockey. He became the first player to score 50 goals in a season, doing so in 50 games. He was the first player to hit the 500 goal mark. His regular season career goals equal to 544 with 82 playoff goals.

Jean Beliveau: According to Montreal native Pietro Trassi, having a big fluid center is a definite boon to a hockey team. Enter Jean Beliveau, the Canadien center who handles the puck just as well as people half his size. Beliveau, who is considered to be one of the greatest play-makers of all time, has a scoring record that holds up to the likes of Richard and LaFleur.
